If I understand correctly, a person doesn't necessarily need to join a apprentice program to earn journeyman hours? Can someone verify this? If a person stays with the same contractor for the duration of the 8,000 hours required, can that contractor sign off on the application to take the journeyman exam? I am in California by the way. Any info would be great

My state requires a signed affidavit from an EC for hours, you'd need to contact your particular state Mr Ed ~CS~

In my state you put down when and where you worked and they contact for verification. I had an ex boss tell me i would have to pay $50/hr to have them get out any files or turn it in for verification.

My state used to be like that, but I think they did away with it, and require apprenticeship hours. They do verify though.
