Look for books/videos/courses on "structured wiring".. it'll all be old and crusty, but get you started.

There's a new revolution happening in the smart home field. You could be part of it.

Are you in school now?

No I am not currently in school for any Data & Communication/ Smart Home Technology but I am incredibly interested in learning as much as possible. As mentioned above, I understand there are a lot of courses out there but we all know that some of them are a complete waste of time. Was just asking to see if anyone had advice on where to start. If anyone else has any knowledge I would really appreciate it!!

Yeah and I think compute processing and technology (moores law) has finally caught up with the Jetsons being a reality. Minus the briefcase flying car.

I think the books you want to read haven't been written yet.
