Had to go to a call where a kid was zapped by 50 volts appearing on the ladder of a swimming pool everything was correct bonded and stuff I suspected a high impedance neutral no luck then looked at the transformer fed by u/g 6.6kV 2 480 volt secondary center tapped fed to 2 properties on on each leg, three were 3 pots on a pole 11-6.6kV,feeding six joints near the sea so I suspected the cable must be corroded, proved the point by connecting up a diesel generator rewired to double delta, they even found the lead jacket was almost gone only remnants of the outer cable remained, but why is it so hard to get things done they blamed everything from roadworks to metal thieves.

I think if you really looked into the specifics of all the calls they would get
And a lot probably from surrly customers, many of these calls would Not be poco's fault !

If you had to deal with so many cranky customers, many of them quite rude,
I think you would get pissed off too !
Think about it from there side ? Much easier to understand then !

Not all faults are poco,s problems, but they still get blamed none the less.
How many electricians could tell you about faults at first thought to be poco's problems,
that turned out to be the consumers problem ?
Probably from ignorance, but they still gotta cop it!
I wouldn't want there job !

It would be a good job ! if it wasn't for the customers !

Yeah I was there next door when these two guys were screaming like **** which they were about a ferret which had been living near a padmount transformer, and was going into their yard and crapping all over their letterbox.eventually the cops shot the unfortunate beast should have discharged 4 more rounds from that glock imho.

Most utilities only want to replaced stuff that is completely fried. Additionally they consider most electricians stupid and will not take you at your word unless you really lay it out there and prove to them there is a problem, or get to someone that cares and few at local utilities care anymore.
