I was fixing an AC unit that kept tripping the breaker. I narrowed the problem down (or one of them) to a fried relay. Its a really old AC so I did my best at finding an exact replacement. And although the numbers match it was missing a duel prong spade terminal mounted to the out side of the relay, which had no connections inside. So, the two wires that connect to that terminal I just spliced together.
Does anyone see a big issue with this? other than an inability to quickly disconnect on the the run capacitors..
Also, I have two of these units and the other on thats was still running before the repair actually pulls more amps than the one I just fixed.. so hoping the issue was just an (old) fried relay..
thanks!
