Never seen one. Maybe the guy was a machinist or welder? LOL!

Some of the stuff we run across is pretty interesting.

Yeah, I saw one the other day in a older 50's or 60's ranch home. I did a double take for certain. Maybe I had seen one before, but if I did, I didn't remember it. Theirs had been disconnected long ago, and it didn't have a 240v outlet either, it was in the kitchen where an old dish washer used to be.

I've never seen it and I must say that it's one of the most useless things I've ever seen.

It's a good way to over complicate a simple installation....and they put the dryer recep upside down

It is 40+ years old and still in use. Who provides it anyway? Plumber or electrician. I wanted to open it up to check it out. Just to see how it is built. Also for a manufacturer label.

All the time. It seems that was the thing for condo laundry rooms. Almost everyone has that set up I thought that was the norm.
What city? Look close, this thing is all steel with the 120v receptacle for the washer and the 240v for the dryer built into the same unit as the water supply and drain.

It's called a Guy Gray box. Guy Gray is the mans name that invented it. He's from west Kentucky. Rascal made eleventy-billion dollars off that "invention"

Central FL. I know. I see it all the time. Like I said, I thought it was a standard item.

Seen them quite often doing old work

Had to repair a receptacle in one of those for a washing machine once
