Ever look at your electric bill for your home? Here's mine from last month.

Basic service charge: $10.00
Energy Charge winter: 620 KWh @ $.073930 $45.84
Fuel Cost Charge: 620 KWh @ $.029680 $18.40
Affordability Charge: $.71
Resource Adjustment: $2.90
Interim Rate Adjustment: $3.69
City Required Facility Surcharge: $.61
_________________________________________________________
Subtotal $82.15
Transit Improvement Tax: .25% $.21
County Tax: .15% $.13
State Tax: 6.875% $5.64
__________________________________________________________
Total $88.13

Granted I pay a lower rate per KWh but, the added misc. and additional taxes add up. It's crazy.

I know what you mean, I pay about a half-dozen idiotic charges too, including everyone elses solar installations.

And even worse, the CEO rakes in about $4,500,000 a year.

I pay anywhere from $300 - $500 a month. Really makes me want to do a line side tap.

The one I really dislike is the "energy efficiency" charge. It subsidizes the 99 cent CFL's and $5 LED's at HD and Walmart.

You're right around 14 cents/kW, when ya lump it all together. Will have to look at mine again, pretty sure it's at 20 cents/kW. Hate getting that bill.

Exactly the same as my electric bill. If my utility billed weekly.

I found a guy that had 1/2 his meter jumped out for years. They installed a smart meter and he called me out to find out why his bill doubled.
It knew.

Yes !
Tropical north queensland.
Summer night times = 28 celsius 95% humity.
Hard to sleep without a/c.
