Finishing up a job another guy started.There are 8 2x2 fixtures in the room 1 is an emergency all 120 v.He ran 12/2 mc to all fixtures the feed is only a 2 wire. Question am I screwed as far as getting that emg fix to work now?Txs

yes, you would need 12/3 for a constant hot to the battery

I usually run a 3 wire also all the way around to every fixture.But I'm just finishing up his f ups.Ithought I could just run a 3 wire from the emg to the feed and tie in the red an black.I hate emg fixtures

I think he is referring to running a different circuit for the emergency, I could be wrong tho

Just run an additional 12/2 from the em fixture back to the jbox that has the em circuit in it.

You also need to determine how the fixture will operate in a non loss of power state. Is the fixture a "night light" or is it switched?

Its not a night light.Its a emg fix so if power is lost the fixture will still work on batt for 90 min
