I want to use some smurf pipe in an office remodel where the 2nd floor is an apartment. The ceiling is 2 layers of sheetrock and its all wood framing.

Reading article 362 looks like everything is cool, except 362.10 which has something about " a second floor not designed for human habitation". What is this?

Also, the pipe would just be used as a sleave for low voltage wiring, would not penetrate any fire walls, and would not be going between floors. Am I ok here?

I don't know if you can get a 15 - minute rating out of the stuff!

I don't think it's a suspended ceiling you breaking a 2 hour rate barrier!

You in if the building is sprinkled, but how are you going to support it?

Your favorite inspector isn't on speed dial?

No sprinklers in building.

Just a chase in-between two rooms to bring phone, cable, and camera lines into a front desk area. It will come out about 12" high in a desk area, up inside the wall (supported with large staples up the studs) and pop out the other side of the wall.

No fire wall penetrations.
