I can not remember the name of the boxes that go around high hats to make them fire rated. Are they called Chinese hats?

Im not 100% sure about this but i belive your refering to a Firebox, there are some companies that make just the box or you can buy the recessed can with the firebox built on it. Try a google search for "recessed can firebox" or "recessed can fire rated box." a china hat is a cover that goes over an outdoor lawn light or similar they look like a chinese hat soley for decoration not fire protection.
