Has anyone laid hands on these new meters from flir?
See spec sheet here:
http://www.flir.com/uploadedFiles/T...Test_Measurement/CM83/FLIR-CM83-Datasheet.pdf

I think the "VFD" filtering etc is probably marketing bs, but being able to do quick phase rotation, harmonic content and THD measurements without having to drag my large expensive scope meter out would be handy.

My biggest concern is these are almost $400 and it could well be at extech with a black case instead of green (fairly sure extech and flir are related companies).

Anyone played with one?
They do look sweet.

Did some research on this meter and am considering picking one up mainly for the meter link capabilities for my Flir Imager. Seems more robust than the extech option.

If purchased I will give a review
Yes that's another cool feature. It will connect via Bluetooth to smartphones as well I believe. So you get remote display functionality via your phone.

I hadn't considered that the filtering might mean accurate current readings. That would be cool. My true rms meter does a crappy job of that.

Yes Bluetooth headset for voice annotations and I send images from camera to my iPad via wifi. The flir viewer app allows quick reports on the spot for customers. It would be nice to have a meter link clamp meter so loads could be added in directly rather than manually writing them up. iPad app, these can be created in about 5 minutes on site, then full reports generated back at the office
