I got a call from one of my customers on Sat. telling me that he has 2 ft. of water in his basement and why didn't the generator come on, we must have done something wrong. I was working 6 houses away so I met his daughter there and everything on my end checked out so I told her to call the town to shut the water off at the curb.

She calls me later to say the plumber will be there at 5pm so I go back. Both sump pumps are on and working. He disconnects the furnco and the water shoots back under pressure. He follows the pipe in the ceiling to the other side of the basement where it connects to the sewer and finds a reducer in the pipe clogged with silt. There was probably 1/4" opening.

So, did you bill him for the call?
