I am an apprentice. I have a fluke 789 it's a $800 meter. It's a process meter would be great for instrument tech doesn't read continuity and a couple other things. Should I sell and buy a different model.
Yes a t5 or t+pro would be fine and you would have about 700$ left over after you sold the 787 on eBay or whatever.I would get a different meter to do field work, but depending on what area of the field you wind up in you may wind up needing it in the future. So I wouldn't get rid of it but it wouldn't be my first choice for carrying in the field. A fluke T5 is always great to have and then choose a multimeter depending on what you need. Fluke 117 and 87v are popular choices.
Voltage is good, alsoContinuity is the only feature I'd want in a meter as an apprentice.
Okay...<edited to be nicer this year!>

I just went into my lab, and I can offer you everything an apprentice might need. Being a youtube host I get all types of merchandise sent to me, hands tools to meters to power tools.
