The average worker seems to be making less and less so its no wonder no one cares...
My one neighbor used to drive trucks for a living and he tells me what crappy pay they make now.....and how he would never get into it now..
And its like that all across the board...

Show up and pull the manager aside and have a friendly chat. I think they're all hungry to an extent. In the end it comes down to I can go elsewhere. Though that may not be an option where you are. Never hurts to talk to them.

I can go online and order stuff from a local supplier. As late as 7 PM

The order shows up at my shop the next morning, before 6:30 AM.

can't get any better than that.

Just had a small MCC delivered to a site in Las Vegas last month. Instructions CLEARLY told the trucker to deliver with a lift gate truck or call ahead to arrange for a fork lift rental because this was a greenefield site with no loading facilities yet. LTL trucker company didn't do either. The driver apparently sat there for a half hour as they scrambled to find a fork lift, then they told him it would take 2 more hours to get one there. He put the MCC at the end of the bed and drove out from under it, flopping in on its face on the ground. The entire thing has to be rebuilt of course, but worse yet, this was a fast track project that is now going to miss a deadline, costing the EC and GC some big bonuses and in the case of the EC, that was going to be split out to the crew. Needless to say if that trucker has another delivery to that site, he had better hire it out to someone else...

I might be getting pictures too, the trucker's insurance company wants to know why the equipment can't be repaired, I am being asked to write up the response. If I get them, I'll post a few.

no problem for my shop, delivery guys are very good, sometimes if it is raining and truck is outside they will put stuff on pickup bed (it have a cabin on it) or they will call me to ask me what to do with package
