Hi ALL
I am installing a new garbage disposal. I have a switch that controls the light above the sink so my question is can i turn that into a double switch to control both the disposal and the light and also how can I do that?

Step 1) Call an Electrician.
Step 2) Pay his bill.

yes,but you will need to run some 12/2 wire back to your panel and put it on its own dedicated 20 amp breaker.make sure your light has a different power supply usually from a 14/2 cabel coming into your double gang box along with your 12/2 homerun for your disposal

Thanks for responding Gareno...The reason why I asked is because I was told that I didn't have to do all that because I already have wires for the dishwasher. Can I just get rid of the light all together and just use that switch or will i still need to run wires to the panel?
