I haven't been able to find a depth requirement for a grounding electrode conductor.

How deep should the bare copper wire be buried that is running from my ground rod to the building? What code article has this requirement?

Also is there a depth requirement for a ground ring?

250.53 doesn't show the grounding electrode conductor bury depth requirement. It does show the ground ring requirement.

Also I can't find where the code says that a ground rod is only required to have a #6 wire attached to it.

There is no burial depth requirement for a gec. It's been proposed and shot down.

I personally have 6 copper grounds 6 ft. down. My electrician found my one and only ground ( a #6 green stranded copper cable) was run up into my attic then clamped to my black pipe gas line.

That was probably code in 1980's but he fixed it.

He also told me to have a 240 VAC service upgrade I had to have an emergency light? What code is that? Or was he just blowing the proverbial smoke up the out orifice?
