I can understand people posting pictures of hack work they've come across while working. I do not understand why people post pictures of their own hack work? Aren't we professionals?

Can't a man take pride in his own 5hit work without someone telling him it's 5hit? really?

If the person knows the work is sh1tty then why post the picture? Unless they honestly don't know that they did a sh1tty job.
All of aftershockews threads are hack.

Chris, not all of us are legit, licensed or professional electricians. Some of us just make money off doing "elektrickal werk."

I can understand someone posting a picture with a question but, why show a picture that proves that your an amateur or hack?
Because he doesn't even realize that we know what good work looks like, and that's not it?

If all you have ever seen is hack work.. then something almost to code is some high end super duper elite fancy pants showin off material!

Worse part is he keeps trying!
Here's one I came across earlier this week. Don't know if it actually works because this was not a customer of mine. It's a 2-family so it must be another cheap landlord.

Were you all born great electricians or did it take time to achieve?

Now I feel bad. :(

I never really considered there were people trying to work as electricians who weren't born to do it. Must be tough for them.. hooking up wires `n stuff with no idea what they're doing.

I didn't really consider how easy life has been for me, being born into a blue collar family. You've opened my eyes to people born into families with no collars... not even sleeves. IT AINT RIGHT!

We should start a non-profit charitable organization working towards helping bring collars and sleeves to those without.

Maybe they are not afraid of criticism of their work. Unlike the folks who create threads like this: http://www.electriciantalk.com/f2/hack-pictures-60933/#post1131686

Just a thought.

Here is why... Because sometimes you got to do what you got to do to make it work. Sometimes it isn't realistic or in the budget to do it the right way so you make with what you have.
Now when this happens you might feel a little bit bad about it, so you post a pic in here to hear some other professional say " oh I've done that before" or "I've been in that spot". then you don't feel so bad.
Because at the end of the day all that matters is that money is being made, otherwise we lose our jobs.
