resi and commercial companies that only do city work in Edmonton and Calgary aren't going to hire some guy from Ontario, just being honest man. They got enough guys from the city just like you banging on their doors looking to get apprenticed.

your best bet is up North.

you get tax kickbacks on your tuition. mine cost 3 grand and im going to get around 80% of that back when i do my tax return right away.

it's a small investment for a career.

Yup. It's 300 bucks but they don't take anyone. It has a strict selection of candidates. I will apply for that one and SAIT Polytechnic.
I think it's an investment that is going to pay off and I will be more confident starting my apprenticeship with some knowledge and upon the completition of the program I can challenge the first year electrician apprenticeship exam.
