Just thought I would say hello and introduce myself. I am a journeyman electrician from NW Iowa. I have been in the trade for about 15 years and still find it exciting. We (Iowa) is finally requiring liscenced electricians. I am going to apply for a class A masters liscence and was wondering if anyone might have some pointers as for areas to study for the exam.

Nice to meet you and thanks for your help,

Matt

Greetings and welcome, fellow Iowegian!

If you get your license before the board makes it official, you'll automatically be rolled over to a Class A. I don't know (nor do they) what the requirements will be for testing after the new rules take effect. They may just keep the Prometric test, or do something else. So my best advice is to take the test ASAP so you know now what you need to study.

Here's a link to the State Fire Marshal's web site:

I plan on attending the next meeting myself. I'll keep you posted.
