quick intro,
I am not a certified electrician, but have had several oppurtinities since the mid 90's to have jobs related. It was an option/oppurtunity before my life altering event that put everything on hold.
I worked as a telecommunications intern at my local university for a summer. Learned alot. worked a bit with analog and digital, and the strange mixup in between the 1990s was common with (ie: an old computer keeping track of analog and even making changes!).Ran fiber, even ground ends by hand to feed half the university with the one fiber cable, I was sweating in a crawl space to get a "perfect 90" with. (it worked first shot)
I have been a jack of all trades carpenter for years (even after disabled- someone had something to keep me busy) including electrical helper.
My own personal dealings with electrical was a fuse box in a 1940's mobile home I hooked up for catv and true 3 wire for pc and modern amenities (I have no idea if what I did needed a license, but I surely got it done correctly). Among other projects I probably shouldn't mention due to license and permits. In my locale things really do happen without a 911 electrican that left me learning alot on my own.
anyway, my purpose for joining is checking out modern posts as I may be able to get working again, and electrician as a career has always been in my thoughts. Also, I still do odd jobs without licensing sometimes, nothing important, but no doubt a step up from no knowledge at all..
