When installing heavy fixtures like chandeliers take the white round tabs from screws off old exit signs. Place 8-32's through fixture bracket and slide screws through tabs. this holds the screws in the bracket

Makes for easier install and ends screws dropping on the floor when your 18 feet in the air.

When fishing in walls that requires drilling a hole from basement up in to wall, I always take a wire coat hanger cut a straight piece and one end on a 45 degree angle put in cordless drill and drill a hole in the finished floor as close to baseboard as possible then find hanger in basement and drill a hole a 1" 1/2 away from hanger perfect hole in center of wall every time.

Works on all finished carpet and hardwood floors and leaves no damage.

When in need of a chase nipple you can make one in the field.
Take any connector and with a hack saw cut off the pipe end threads even with the shoulder. A little sandpaper or emory cloth and you have a chase nipple. Compression connectors work the best.

They will not be UL approved fittings so use caution.
