Hey guys,
Great forum. There is so much good info here thanks to all of you. I have been in the IBEW for 10yrs. I am seriously considering getting my c-10 lic. and going out on my own. Does anyone have any advice for taking the C-10 test?

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the encouragement. I was fortunate to get about half residential and half commercial during the apprenticeship. The last 2 years I spent as a tunnel electrician which was good and bad. I am out of Alameda county local 595. Things are very slow now, which is helping me to decide to go out on my own.

Are they slow in the other locals as well? I was under the impression that most of the Bay Area was doing pretty good.

We do service, residential and small commercial jobs and have been really busy. Have you taken any business courses or anything yet?
I have heard San Jose is doing ok. S.F. has slowed down. Some of the slow down is seasonal. This is the most guys out of work in Alameda since the start of the recession, 08-09 ish. I completed an A.A in Business Supervision Management in 03-04. I really should brush up with some business classes.
