They've tried to get me to sign up, almost got to the place of begging. What a joke! Why would I pay someone for the privilege of bidding against several other contractors for a measly job. I'd never use it unless I was very hard up for work. Why did they change their name from Service Magic to Home Advisor???

Wow some phone operator didn't take your sage business advice? I can't believe they weren't lining up to be verbally gang raped by the yahoos here at ET.

You begrudge us the chance to vet them then Scott?

Really....?

Most of them make GC's look good

Some have changed biz names for a reason

One i'm taking to small claims soon

But hey, if y'all wanna go work for someone you'll never meet, never realizes what you do, wants an NTE, wants to beat your $ down, and wants it fast and pay slow these online whores are the best!

I highly suspect that they might not lie but they're not very careful with the truth. I don't believe it when they tell me that they're getting a lot of calls in my local area for panel upgrades.:no::no: I'm guessing my "local" area would be about a 60 mi. radius.

Maybe to them one call is a lot and 100 miles is an area

We are set up with them, but have pretty much just had our leads paused for the last year and a half. When I first started they were pretty good at getting us quality leads, but as time has gone on, the lead quality has dried up IMO.

We have a person in the office who can literally call the second the lead comes in, send an email, text notification, etc......We rarely are able to get ahold of the so called client. If we do get ahold of them, it is most often a tire kicker, who would be better served looking at Craigslist for handyman.

There customer service has gone downhill considerably and they won't compensate/reimburse you for false leads like they used to do either. It is a war to have to work with them, at least for us.

Their "leads" come from people clicking on links in popup ads when surfing home improvement sites, or fill out "surveys" to enter a chance to "win a free..." whatever.
