Home inspector

I had a guy call me saying he had a home inspector inspect his house. One of the items noted was the disposal makes the kitchen lights dim. He wants me to fix it but the only thing i can think of is to make sure neuts are tight. Any other ideas.

I love home inspector threads. They should have their own section

Or you could just say sometimes that happens. There very well could be absolutely nothing wrong.
........ Any other ideas.
Undersized service.
Undersized service conductors.
Undersized branch circuit.
Bad motor in disposal.
Put disposal on circuit separate from light.
Poltergeists.
Cletis wired it.

Close the lights before using the garbage disposal and they won't dim!

Is it on same circ. as lights?
If not move it to other leg in panel.

 That was a good one.

As for an HI one of the first things I tell people after an HI gives them the report is to burn it. Nothing close to touching reality will be present in it.
I told him that it happens and he want me to figure put the draw of the circuit. I think the lights and disposal are together

Best thing is go over and look over what the home inspector may have missed. Around here its not to uncommon for the disposer circuit to share the light above the sink since both switches are in the same box. Dimming is inevitable.
Nothing a Sawzall, some cable and a breaker won't fix.

That statement sounds like "old country".
Make out the lights, when you leave! Don't leave them burning.
comprehensive inspection $300

upgrade main service to 200 amps$3,500

add multiple branch circuits into kitchen area $2,500
I love it when the home inspector charges them $300 to tell them it needs "further evaluation by a licensed tradesman". Then the buyer expects you to go there for free and look at it.

They really do:eek: Dont even get me started:censored:
Had an inspector tell one of my customers who bought a new house that all the outlets were ungrounded. He said "its strange, its all new romex in the panel". Jackazz had a bulb out in his plug in tester. They were fine. He prob did 10 inspections that week and every house had ungrounded outlets.

You left out stuff

Too many dwellings on one poco xfmr.
Undersized poco xfmr.
Undersized poco xfmr at the other end of the street and that house is the end of the line.
Some re........tard put rice in the disposal and ruined it.

I never understood that, why does rice ruin disposers?
