Sketchup vs. Revit for BIM

You can use Sketchup and Layout to do construction docs.
Sketchup is a very powerful modeling tool, but the quality of the drawings strictly depends on the proficiency of the user. SKP is really intuitive and hence it's easy to just pick up and use.

Revit, on the other hand, requires decent proficiency to work on and does much of the cleanup work on the backend so the end result looks really polished. Revit is really useful with coordination and data extraction.

Ultimately it boils down to user preference.
