Hubbel or Legrand GFI’s

For the record, I personally like the Legrand GFI’s way more. For several reasons - all having to do with installation purposes . And I haven’t minded paying a little more for them.

But until now, I didn’t realize exactly how much more expensive they were….almost double. And that’s with supply house pricing.

Does anyone here want to weigh in this? Are Hubbel GFI’s a less quality product?

Leviton Baby.......... Home Depot is so easy to find parking.......
Not gonna lie. I’ve got a few Leviaton devices on the truck. But I don’t like them as much as the brands they sell at the SH.

Maybe I’m just acting like a stuck up diva. lol

Im confused...Legrand typically 1/2 the price of Hubbell.

Not today my friend. Go get a price quote the next time your at the front desk at your SH.

15amp WRTR GFI and 20amp WRTR GFI

You’ll be surprised.
Those Hubbel are the made in China version. We used to use them for our WR applications because they were the best price, but quit because of too many failures. Some of them actually got hot enough to deform the plastic casing. Now we use Eaton GFCI'S, and have very few failures.

Thank you for that post. This is the kind of information I’m looking for.

I use Legrand because my supplier switched to them but I used Eaton devices for years. No experience with Hubbell, and only use Leviton if Home Depot is my only option.

I find that hard to believe.
The electronic guts of those receptacles probably all come from the same Chinese factory. I have had cheap No Name GFCI receptacles in use for three years with no callbacks.

When I get home tonight, I’ll try to remember to post a picture from an old receipt. Don’t worry.

BTW, your paying less for Legrands than I am. By a couple dollars too.

Plus, my whole point I’m trying to get at here is - Are Hubells and inferior GFI? If so, then that’s just one more reason for me not to buy them. But if not, its gonna be hard justifying paying almost twice as much for the brand I like.
@macmikeman

Meanwhile these Levitons are only $23.54 or $21.40 if you buy a pack of 3.

Gotta remember they don’t include cover plates with them. I always forget that.

Off brand GFCI'S were nightmare for me, what no-name name are you using?

In my experience most Hubbell devices are beefier. Legrand is what my main supplier sells, however anything special is normally a Hubbell.

I normally use Leviton brand with no problem so far.
I like the Eaton ones but look like they only belong in a commercial building to me.
I used to use the off brand ones many years ago until one blew out for no apparent reason, you get what you pay for.

I believe Hubbel has 2 line. The traditional, beefy, well made devices, and then the cheap Chinese stuff.
