what areas of study out of the IBC are needed, do you just need to be able to navigate it for Administration and occupancies and such? :confused1:

Took the E2 exam in march, knowing how to navigate the code book is key. watch your time! answer every question first then go back and look up what you have to.

I took it and passed with only my 2011 NEC in hand. You should be OK if you study your code book and can pass a standard JW exam. I don't recall any specific questions related to building code. If you look at the ICC criteria, I believe it shows only the NEC as the referenced material for the exam.
