Hello experts,

I would like to know if 200 Mega-ohms megger reading between the two cables of 185mm2 or 350MCM size and 100 meters long, is pass or failed with 380VAC supply Voltage and 200 Amps load.

PLs. help me, this is a serious situation.

Thank you in a advance...

What test voltage?

Providing you're testing the insulation at 500V or 1000V, 200 MOhm would have to well and truely be a pass.

V=IR; I=V/R; I=380/200000000, I=0.0000019 Amps (ala 1.9 Microamps leakage)

In Australia, 1 MOhm is a pass. I don't know the pass regulations for America but 200 MOhm should be more than fine.

Edit: And you're in Saudi Arabia, same goes. Unless you're testing the cable at 50 Volt or something, which won't give you an accurate reflection of Insulation Resistance at nominal working voltage.

Thank you so much maddhatter for your reply.

I am using 1507 fluke insulator tester, and I set that to 1000V as my testing insulation.
