Looking at installing some core drilled recess lights. Specification sheet list them as suitable in combustible material (non ic). Would you interpret this to mean if no insulation is present they could be installed in wood beams? BK low voltage LED fixture
I interpret your question as saying that you are going to install lights either in concrete or that are meant for concrete. They will work for mounting in a wood framework, so long as there is no insulation within 3" of the housing. I would not install them in a beam unless the beam is hollow, or if an engineer says that the integrity of the beam has not been compromised by core boring with a concrete drill.
