Hi Everyone ,

I have a bit of a problem . I am trying to fix a kitchen island vent hood here in Houston . When ever I flip the switch to turn the vent hood fan on , I can see the fan turn about 10 % of a full turn . Then it just about stops and HUMMS . My senior electrician thought spraying into it with WD40 would fix it and it would return to spinning freely . That didn't work .

The vent hood is an odd size to me . I am wondering what I should do at this point ? What is the best way for me to proceed ? Can I get a replacement motor or should I have the current motor taken out and rebuilt / properly cleaned and inspected ?

I am not an expert yet , but I haven't been able to find either a matching size (approximately 17 x 11) vent hood or even a proper motor replacement .

Please let me know what you guys think .

Thank you ,
Scott Johnson
