I have a general naive question.

If I want to go and change an outlet receptacle switch or a inwall Dimmer switch, do I need any form of permission?

I want to start offering a new service and I will need to go and replace outlets and switches as require. I won't be re-wiring or making any modifications. I'm also not a license electrician.

Would I be violating any codes by just replacing the switches and ac outlets?

Thanks
