Being pushed big time in my company. It's how I got my current job. I turned down their initial offer three months prior to being contacted via LinkedIn. Let's just say, it worked out very well for both of us.

That is my main goal; connected with employers, and if they need people they see what I am about and can contact me.

I've noticed a lot of contractors and their decision makers get a real thrill out of subs like me "following" them. If you're looking for a job, it's a good place to take a sneak peek at the boss's resume, and potential coworkers resumes as well. If you're looking to hire someone, you can see their resume, what they deem valuable to pay attention to, etc.

i used it one time to check somebody out, and then it was like a virus that wanted to take over my email and computer. took me a while but I finally eradicated it.
