Asking $40K ..outstanding reputation with thousands of satisfied residential customers in the Palos Verdes Peninsula, Rolling Hills and adjacent area, this should be a great opportunity to expand your company. Please PM me and I can give you more information including direct contact with the owner.

40k sounds cheap.

You can always offer more if you feel that is what the company is worth

The thing about selling a contracting business is that it is only worth what someone else is willing to pay.....the owner may have already figured this out and has basically come up with a FMV for his tangible assets to ensure a quick sale for his exit strategy.

What I see in a small shop is that the customer base wants the guy they have been using.
This why I like to have an owner stay around and service his accounts with the house keeping 10% of his calls and the house paying the old owner 10% of any business on his house accounts.
You can buy a customer list but if, one of the key contacts moves or retires, good chance that account is gone too.
I bought a business from someone and he forgot to tell me that they were changing the type of credentials needed for the work. I made a little money but still think the guy was a turd to do that.
