Maybe Ferrite Rings could cure this malady?

I wired a Tesla charger two weeks ago , at a house I rewired a year or so ago . Normally I turn down Tesla Chargers cause they always seem to end up with issues , which other electric car manufacturer's don't seem to have. But these guys are a "favorite customer status" to me, so I broke my own rule and wired the thing.
Anyway, originally I put in one of these digital timers for the owners for their outside front lights (3) LED stuff. Now I got a call back from the owners to fix- whenever the Tesla is charging the 3 lights flip on and off all at the same time at about 1 second intervals. I went over to witness and sure enough that is what happens. I can hear the relay in the timer switch click on and off. So I checked the Tesla charger branch circuit and the incoming mains from the poco and not finding any real voltage drop issues or amp issues, using both a Fluke meters and plain Jane analog meters. (wish I had of bought one of those $100 dollar occiliscopes I made a thread about a few months ago......) . I just don't have a good answer to give the homeowners. I bought a new timer from a different manufacture to try out, but haven't gone back there yet. I checked all our local electronics stores and none of them sell toroidal coils . Typical. Good ole Radio Shack carried them , I used to buy them there before they closed all the stores. I can get em from Amazon , but I don't like online purchasing so much . I may have to. Anybody else run into a similar problem from a Tesla car charger? This problem is an annoyance for sure.

Forgot to add, the lights and timer work just fine when Tesla charger is off, but they like to charge at night when they also like to keep those lights on. They are going on vacation in June and wan't to keep the charger on while they are gone because Tesla says to charge the car when on vacation. But the light timer is set to go on random at nights cause we gots burglers in Hawaii that work in the dark. I'm between a rock and a Tesla Charger..........

Can you change the lamps to fluorescent or the old incandescent ones to see what happens? I had a problem with GE's LED lamps working on the first floor but not on the second floor. I used the cheap Costco lamps and they all worked.

If you have a place that sells appliance parts you might be able to get ferrite beads there. Especially Panasonic, I still see a lot of Panasonic stuff ship with cords with BIG ferrite beads on them.

Did you think to flip the old Flukes to HZ? Read what is on the screen. Divide by 60. That is your harmonic.
Not as accurate as a power quality monitor but you own this meter. Also it does not give all of the spectrum just the highest.
Do you have a surge suppressor on the home?
Have you tested/checked the ground electrode(s)?

All this new, fancy stuff is great but has their problems. I had to install a red strobe light outside the door to a welding shop. It had to flash when they are welding. Several of the welders had these automatic dark welding helmets and the glass would go light and dark with the strobe. It was some type of RF disturbance. We disconnected the strobe after the inspection.

I have an auto helmet and like it a lot over the old style.
Digikey for your ferrite beads.

I'm the weirdo when it comes to this. I bought an old school pipeliner helmet and I love it. Something about it let's me see way better than auto helmets.

so you have an electronic timing relay that is flashing the lights
it is not a problem with the lights but the timer
no doubt the charger is using PWM to regulate the current flow

as dennis said call Tesla

get an electrical filter for the timer supply
i bought one for about 10 bucks on amazon
it is series connected so it needs to be rated for the load
The half dozen or so Tesla chargers I have put in haven’t given me any trouble, but I’d like to know what you do that solves it. If it can happen with you, it could happen with anyone.

It will be a few days. I gotta babysit the son's doggy's a couple more days till him and his sweetie get back from Lost Wages. The husky tears up the house pretty much if I leave them alone here while I go out solving the worlds problems.

This is what she did to the carpet in one of the bedrooms the 2nd day she was here. I mistakenly thought everything would be alright if I put the two of them into a spare bedroom. Scratched away at the Berber carpet under the door the whole time I was gone from the looks of it.

Our beagle has done damage too. Unfortunately the cost of dog ownership. Our two beasts make great companions despite the occasional damage.

Upgrade the timers to Caseta with a bridge. You get to install new equipment and not have to troubleshoot old timers and they will want Lutron throughout the whole house. OK, Lutron send me my commission.

#1 thing to do first. Check ALL associated grounds. Big power supplies create common mode voltage and if there is not a clean low resistance ground connection, that noise finds its way to ground through any easier path, like through the electronics in your timer, wrecking havoc along the way.

Ok, I'll do it. But since I was the guy running the ground in the first place and I memorized Article 250 way long time ago , I am doubtful................ it is an underground service, a long ass one. Neutral might be compromised going past a lot of tree roots, but voltage is stable and good at the service. This is real jungle though. Maybe the underground copper pipe dies out at the property line and turns into pvc all the way down the hill........ Maybe.
I’d be happy to bring you my mega beast for the cost of a round trip ticket…
It's fixed. Runs good now. I put ferrite tubes on the feeder's hot legs to the charger. Then I followed what Jraef said and re-did the "earthing" system . Then I put in another timer switch, this one a different brand I got from a local hardware store that is not a clone of the other one by looking at it's controls and general setup. It worked. After a while I removed the ferrite's cause they were buzzing a little bit. and I figured that would be a cinch to put back on if there was a repeat problem, but no. So I ruled them out. (at least for the time being). I'm kinda leaning towards just a bad timer switch. Got paid. Have a nice day.
