My customer needs to install a meter pole for overhead service. This is a pole that sticks up out of the ground and is not attached to a building. I need to know the specs on the pole such as how deep it goes into the ground, diameter of pole, allowable materials etc....
I can get clearance requirements from the NEC but have not been able to find specs for the pole in the NEC. I have found specs for the pole from various power companies, none of which are in my area. Is there an NEC spec for this or is it a power company / AHJ thing?

It's an AHJ / POCO thing.

Check with your POCO / AJH for ths details ..

And the POCO will generally tell ya where the best spot put the post ( they like to keep it close as possible.. ) and somecase it will need backguy'ed depend on distance..
