Does anyone have any experience with this set? It is expensive at $1600, but seems like a great resource for the beginning electrician (which I am) all the way up to Masters preparation.

Yes, the Mike Holt series of text books and practice exams are an outstanding source of electrical knowledge but the bottom line is experience in the field is just as important, especially if you're just starting.

Yes the MH material is great stuff, they also have a forum where you can ask questions etc.

great stuff, but you might be better served just spending a little at a time. when you are a year out from being ready to take your test, then buy the set that will be current for the test you are going to take and study the crap out of it.

ha ha no. You'd have to have been there. He dedicated too much time to telling us about how amazing he was. That's all I was getting at. Water skiing is awesome.

Whether he's a douche or not, he puts out a good course. I've ordered multiple books and dvds from him and his people got my order right and shipped out before the close of business each time

consider the possibility that when he got to your school, he looked around and all he saw was a bunch of losers, robo-zombies, and baby douches. maybe he was just trying to inspire someone there with a success story.

(I'm not trying to be demeaning, just throwing out one possible scenario of many. your results may vary)

I have nothing but good things to say about Mike Holt's exams and forum. It is the resource to be using. I have seen many but none are as straight forward no BS like Mike Holt.
