Is there a minimum distance required between a wall sconce and a sloping ceiling? In this case, the ceiling meets the wall at about 5-feet, so the homeowner would like the sconce as high on the wall as possible. Is there a regulation minimum distance?

The minimum would be as far up as possible till the sconce doesn't fit flush on the wall anymore.. that would be too high up.

Keep in mind that it would be convenient if you placed the sconce at a height that the bulb is still accessable without having to remove the fixture from the wall.

Unless it doesnt matter that the ceiling makes accessing the bulb inconvenient

And if it is base-up fixture the heat from the bulb will discolor the paint.

Just hang circleline 22 watt white flourescents on the wall at 6'0" AFF. Trust me, it will look great.
