Mobile Banking

My bank started using Mobile Banking a couple months ago, it works out great for business.

I used to waste a decent amount of time sitting in the drive-thru waiting to deposit customer's checks. It was often 5-10 minutes, sometimes up to 15 minutes or more.

Now it takes me about 2 minutes to deposit the check thru my cell phone before I pull away from the customer's house.

The only thing I don't like about it is that I keep the check, the bank says for me to hold it for 2 weeks and then destroy it. That's opening me up to a bit of liability and I also don't like knowing that if I pay someone with a check they might be holding onto it and not destroying it properly. But the advantage outweighs the disadvantage

I use mobile banking almost daily. Love it. Cue the grumpy old men and the paranoid.....

Did you charge your customers a fee for that time spent?
..its a matter of time before the banks get burned and that process ends.

Yes, I add extra time onto all jobs for commute, paperwork, permit acquisition, etc.

Explain
$20,000 check and signature not verified? Why bother signing the check?

Who says it's not verified?

you stated you keep the check, you did not say you scanned the check, or is this a Cletis gotcha post?

Why don't you find out how the system works before you make comments about it? This right here is the problem, this is why we have ObamaCare...

I have a $3000 cap on my accounts but, I can deposit 3k in each account.
I have a personal account that will take upto 8k.
It used to be 10k but some rules must
Have changed.
I keep the checks for two weeks and then shred them.
I don't care too much about someone keeping my original deposited checks, they could just copy or scan them like they could before mobile deposits.

I would keep less cash in the hands of known thieves if I was you J. The old stuffed mattress is going to have a popularity comeback soon.
I have BOA for my personal bank, and love being able to deposit checks from my phone or iPad. I hate wasting time going into banks, and their hours suck, so being able to deposit checks right when I get them is awesome. I get $200 immediately in the account, and the balance is deposited the next business day. You take pictures front and back of the check, and on the back you write "For Deposit Only" and then sign. When I deposit the check, I write the date and time on the front, and file it.
Bank teller ladies are always younger than me, why should I want to miss all the fun?

$3K per day?

My worry isn't the person who I gave the check to stealing my info as much as him just not destroying it and someone else finding it in his trash like they usually do. But it's a small, not a big deal.
My bank is on the main street in and out of my town.. pass it twice a day minimum. Stop in, put cheques in the envelope, deposit into machine. Takes maybe 2-3mins.

Though I would prefer to just snap a photo to deposit cheques.. but my bank doesn't offer that yet.

If I use an ATM, I get $300 right away, max. If i mobile deposit them, I get zero until the next day.
