I have (had) this toner:
Fluke Networks PRO3000 Tone and Probe Kit

I needed to use it today and it isn't in my van. I think it's been a month or so since I used it and really don't know what could have happened to it.
Have you seen it?:jester:

What I would like to know is if I should re-order the same thing or is there something better?

I mainly use it to locate electrical wires. It works well but is limited if wires are in conduit. Also can't trace live wires.

Given that I mainly need for electrical, what would be a good tracer or toner to buy?

Well , trace backwards in your log book to see where you were using it last, and start looking there. It might be right where you left it. You do keep a log right?????

The last place I remember using it I have been back there a few times. I've been in every room there (empty house) and didn't notice it. Of course I wasn't looking for it either!

Even though I have some fancy tracing equipment in the truck a basic toner set gets the most use.

If I was you I would get another toner and also look to getting a powerful live tracing tool. The one I have can trace through conduits and armored cables on its highest settings

The company I work for owns the Ideal 61-959 SureTrace kit. We have owned it for about two years and the guys have loved it. The kit mentioned above includes a battery pack, inductive clamp, test leads, alligator clips, outlet plug adapter, and blade prongs.
