Should each state automatically adopt the most recent version of the NEC

NC will not adopt new code until 2017

So yeah... basically since builders have lobbiest in their pocket, legislators in the great state of NC have agreed to not adopt new code each year because builders say it makes homes too expensive. However, commercial projects will still be subjected to the most recent versions. What do electricians think, do you think the latest version of the code should be used every time it is revised?

Connecticut sounds like a lucky state, apparently they are still on the 2005 AFCIs. And Indiana has common sense too.

Personally it should be revised and adopted at the local level. National level implementation makes it to easy for fraud to go through. Any state doing its own amendments is also doing better.
