Is there any way to curtail all this political corruption of officers of the NEC being also heads of major electrical device corporations ? Who supercedes the NEC and can police this dirty little secret in the business ?

NOte: I personally think that someone who is an officer or whom owns shares in a large corporation that benefits from a ruling should not be on the commitee

You're looking at this from the wrong angle (basement window?), because the NEC is simply a book of words. It only becomes a law if it's adopted as the code by an AHJ. Ask them why they adopt these laws.
They adopt them because they don't have the time or money for someone to sift through all the garbage codes

that wasn't because they paid a full time NEC investigator, it was just from all the complaints from EC's over a code article, then inspector took a look and determined it stupid.

WTF are you rambling on about? NEC investigators?

Here we have a code making panel and in fact they do look at each NEC before adopting it.

If enough of us were to petition our local AHJs to delete the latest code requirements (like AFCIs), then possibly the corporations that purchase these requirements will see that their investments didn't pay as much as expected.

There's no possible way that any group of any size will ever cause the CMPs to write reasonable regulations, or repeal idiotic ones. They are the same as any other person (politician) who has more power than they can handle.
