I'm looking to connect a pdu to an empty 240 circuit. The pdu is 30A 240V via L6-30, into a 30A 10-30 receptacle. Which should be fine.

To connect the two I have a 10-30P plug with bare ends, as well as a L6-30R receptable. To double check, what is the proper wire connection into the receptacle?

you are a part time apprentice.....??? wut?
I am not an electrician, I do work on the side with a friend who is. I know lots yet I suppose I am not an expert. I've seen far less educated members posting here so I figured I'd be fine. I can refrain from posting on this forum if needed.

Figured I'd throw the question on here. It's just a basic conversion cable and wanted to make sure.

If its so basic then why are you here asking what to do?

I wanted to double check I put each wire into the correct receptacle port? As I'm not an expert yet I realize it's not a difficult connection.

Either way forget the question. I didn't realize the mentality here. I'll go to a more basic forum.

Yeah, the people here could be a bunch of assholes, just ignore them.

Your plug and receptacle are 240V only, no neutral. So the hots don't matter where they land. Just make sure to land the ground to the prong with the hook on it and you're all set.

If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask. We all started somewhere.
