Someone started a thread about these and I can't seem to find it.

I got to install some today, wafer trims and you can adjust the color from 2000 to 5000.

Pretty cool, but the part that pissed me off and I didn't see mentioned.....

The cut out piece that comes with every can and wafer light was missing!
Kind of

It was on a sheet of paper in the literature they stuff in the box.

Paper!

I had to cut it out and try tracing that paper circle after removing a barbox

Those thin cardboard circles were perfect!

I dunno why halo did away with them for these lights.

do you mean the cardboard template?

good investment
Yes!

The template for these was literally paper.

Typically i just use a 4 or 6in holesaw, but i was removing fixtures and replacing with the trims.

They wouldn't work with a hole already there, but I guess I could just trace that.

The paper template was just brutal!

It's simple why they did it.. You see, they were reading up on the Mactip's of the day, and they saw the one about using an empty or near to empty spool of thhn for a template for the six inch can lights. The one where you can run your pencil around the plastic of one end and that's the perfect size to cut out. So they figure its cheaper for them and since they know the whole electrical community everywhere has seen this tip now, it was a good savings to employ for the stockholders and the bottom line. Yea, that's what happened. Sometimes it's a burden being so damn famous.......
