I have recently started a new job as a controls electrician for a company that does BAS systems. I must say I am really enjoying it thus far. It is kind of a whole different ball game for me as I am not used to working on new construction sites as all my previous work was in the service industry. At the end of the day though I enjoy everything to do with controls and the LV aspect even if the other electricians don't consider us "real" electricians because we basically wire 18AWG and under.

I used to be a vendor (sub) for a company that did co systems. The system I installed could be overridden from a satellite location. I know this is nothing new but it somewhat amazes me. I'm happy for the new job.
Yeah we do it all...CO2 systems, hvac, plumbing, lighting etc etc etc...It is basically the same thing....you can access any building ran by our system from anywhere in the globe and change perimeters. Technology...haha

I still do a lot of these BAS systems and I still love doing them. I sub contract work from companies like Siemens and Honeywell, as well doing installs for a few independent controls contractors. Its great work.....Congrats on the new job:thumbsup:

It's not a bad gig. I'm working on a site rigjt now for at&t all new hvac and controls. Serving one of their switch buildings.
There's a ton of points. It's all in emt.
It's a nice challenge laying it all out.
We are also doing all the power and fire alarm too. So its been a nice little project.
