We periodically do some equipment testing and maintenance in NYC, we got a good deal on this one. How many of you guys use AEMC products, any experience with this one in particular.

Just downloaded the software to my field laptop so we can print reports and do live data view. pretty cool tool to have, a little bulky but we can deal with it.

I can't quite make out the ranges, if it's good for 1KV.
I felt that AEMC products were good and not as expensive, as some of the competition.
I'm still using a hand-crank Yokagowa, but it only goes to 500 volts max. It's OK for my uses, but not good enough for commercial/Industrial as higher voltages have been common for several years.

Yeah, looks like the same model as the ones we've been buying lately. If you do a lot of PI testing, they're the balls because they'll store the readings for you so you don't have to babysit the test.

That said, when I'm doing quick Go/No-Go troubleshooting, I think they're too slow, and I like the old analog meter movements.

That have a strictly digital output, ie numerical? Not a genius with the megger, but I like the scale on the Megger MIT420. Something isn't right when it doesn't just climb, but dance.

If I was only getting a mergger for 1KV, I'd get a Fluke 1789. I'm partial to AVO for a 5KV. Although I see nothing wrong with that one.
