Brexit is causing new “NRTL” marks. I put it in quotes for a reason.
SoBritain is getting “UKCA” and Northern Ireland is getting “UKNI”. There are goofy details about what is used and/or accepted in those countries but suffice to say they are ALMOST getting CE free.
BUT right now the UKCA and UKNI requirements are identical to CE. This means third party testing is NOT required so it is not a real NRTL mark and neither one can or should be accepted in the US. In the future hopefully Great Britain’s will come to their senses and stop the madness. They can adopt sane NRTL requirements and align themselves with Commonwealth countries like Canada and Australia and eventually be able to more freely export to US and Japan and similar countries that actually care about product safety. Cross your fingers!
