You must be able to shut it off with the disconnect handle in order to open it. I assume you tried that?

I think that is a two handed operation. You have to hold the screw in one direction, not sure which, while you turn the door handle.

Also as I recall sometimes the door interlock latch did not always release when you turned switch off. You can play with the interlock defeat screw on the switch handle, but you may have to turn the switch on to use the defeat screw.

No duct tape works for everything. He needs brute strength and shear ignorance that always works. :laughing:
Ahhh....but directing that brute strength on to the door lock would require some sort of tool............maybe a BIGGER HAMMER:laughing:

You wouldn't want to use your bare hands to pummel that door off its hinges. You would injure yourself. Safety first:thumbsup:
