On older QO breakers is it normal when turning them to the off position, for them to stop in the middle "tripped" position? (I can then take it to the off position.)

I don't know about stopping in trip position, but I know that if you smacked it against your hand on the end they would trip, they tripped that easy.

It's been replaced. Surprising thing is, after it was removed from the panel it acted like a normal breaker. I still tossed it.

I have had quite a few that did that. I always thought it was a certain era oc production or something.
