I have an old wp panel mounted 6" from the ground on a structure. Can it be used as a splice box to extend all the conductors to a new panel I will be mounting higher. I bought a 6x6 3r trough figuring to remove old panel. I figured I can save $80 and an hour or so labor lining up KOs and wiring trough.

I've done this before, many years ago. I'm already loosing on this job, no one SH stocks a 30/40 main lug outdoor panel. I had to buy a main breaker unit.

I done it several times. Usually have a tin knocker make me new cover and clear it with the inspector prior to inspection
