I saw an offer for piece work 20 ceints sq.ft. for rough and 4 cents sq. ft. for box for a total of 24 cents per sq. ft.. I am not familiar with this type of work, but it sounds very low to me. Is this even worth it?

$200 per 1000 sq ft I don't understand what the .04 / ft is for ? You said box so .20 is for drilling and rough wires, and .04/ft for boxes (how many) ? How much do they pay for finish ?

I'll pay you twice that much. Be at the shop tomorrow at 7:30. You buy donuts.

Considering I start at $100.00 per point on estimates, I think we can make this work.
Don't forget the $100 workers deposit to be paid before getting in the van.

Also it's $1.10/ km for gas that you have to charge him as well 99cents.:eek::laughing::whistling2:

IMO, if you can hustle day after day after day etc, you should be self employed. That's one of the requirements for a successful business.

I agree though, the worker usually gets the short end of the stick in one of these deals.

It works if you are here illegally. It works for the EC who hires sub-crews like these as he doesn't pay taxes.
That's what you compete against in this neck of the woods.
We call them Ro-Mexicans.

Wen I was a kid in NJ we would go to the brick yard and get a nickel for every old brick we clean mortar from. Easy $$ for a summer time kid.
I could never do that for a living.
