I put a small 1500 watt space heater on my porch this year because of the cold and mom in law complaining of the cold coming in ....and I was curious to see what it would cost to run for the winter and it fused the plug right to the unit from the heat..I never bothered to look at the paper work to see what it says about using it that way, but I imagine its reasonalble ..
The plug behind the thing is a hospital grade and is fine.
But its amazing because it hasn't been there that long.

I found it funny.. It probably is user fault, that heater is probably undersized for the task..i had that killowatt thing for two years and never really used it till now.

I turned it on about 500am...took it off 2 hours later. Probably ran straight for two hours. I felt the plug and it was Hot... as were the prongs in the outlet...the whole thing heated up pretty well.
Good to know, I will rethink how I use mine in the future.
